All In The Serve

So many of us claim to love the Lord.  We say we are Christians, but we don’t do anything with our faith.  We fail to go to church, or we go and don’t get involved.  We talk to God, but we don’t take any risks on His behalf – like trying to reach the lost.  We are more concerned with being comfortable, being safe, and not being inconvenienced.

We only have one chance here on earth.  We only have one chance to serve God.  And time is running out.

How do you serve for the Lord?  Are you making wise use of your days here on earth?  Are you walking it out for God or spinning your wheels on things that won’t matter in the long run?

Tough questions. What kind of answers do you have?

Good questions, I used to get involved in my church but let illness get in the way and now have no motivation to get going again. I do not go to church as much as I should either.

Recently I split from some one I love because he was too devoted to his church. He believed that he had to be this commited to the church as God was telling him to. He could not even agree on whether he could have alittle commitment to a family, all he say was God.

I want to be more involved and stable in my faith. But how much is healthy and when does it get too much?

    Zoe –
I think you should be involved in your local church but there needs to be a balance. It becomes too much when it stresses you out, you feel guilty if you don’t do it, or it starts to rule your life. God uses our gifts and natural passions and abilities. Serving Him through our church should be a joy. For everyone that balance of “How much” is different….but I think if you truly want it to be healthy and pray about it, God will direct you in that process.
