But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? – Matthew 14:30-31 (KJV).
Remember the story of Peter walking on the water? Think about it for a moment. When Peter took his eyes off Jesus and began to sink, he cried out to Jesus. Even though Peter messed up, Jesus still rescued him. This is a picture of our Heavenly Father. Even when we have messed up, if we call upon our Father, He will come to our rescue. That’s how much compassion and grace He has toward those He loves–us.
