Fighting A Defeated Foe

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. – John 16:33 (KJV).

I’ve written on this Scripture before. I retouch on Scriptures when God gives me new insight into them.

Most of us know that in this world we will have trouble, but Jesus has overcome the world.

Do you know that the devil is defeated? That Jesus defeated him on the Cross?

Most of us still give him far too much credit and power in our lives. The only thing he can do is deceive us into thinking his way. It’s a smoke screen.

He is powerless. Jesus took back the keys to earth and gave them to us. He gave us the power to tread on snakes, scorpions and all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means harm us (Luke 10:19).

We have the power to speak God’s Word, believe it in our hearts and see the manifestations of God’s promises (Mark 11:23). Jesus died and rose from the dead to give us that power.
