Still Walking
June 3, 2009Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
James 1:2-4
Yesterday I drove Chase to school. On the way, I passed the guy who walks every day. I wrote a story about him a couple years back … that day I was so impressed that he was out walking in the midst of an intense rain storm.
Yesterday, as I passed him, I thought, He’s still walking. For as long as I can remember, I’ve seen this man walking. Rain or shine, hot or cold … the weather has no affect on this guy’s commitment.
I was talking to my Sunday night girls the other night. I told them that almost nine years ago, I made a commitment to follow Jesus.
Some days have been pretty stormy … some days the sun shines bright. Some days my faith is hot hot hot … other days … not so much.
One of the definitions of commitment is to be involved.
That fellow is involved in walking … it’s his lifestyle.
I want to be involved with Jesus … I want him to be my Life!
Father, thank you for giving me the desire to follow after you. Regardless of what is going on around me … you never change. Thank you Jesus for loving me … first.
I love you Jesus!
In Your Name I Pray,
Amen
God Bless You!
Joyce
