Love Is The Answer

And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.
I John 4:21

I was listening to the messages coming from the ARC Conference in North Carolina this week. The message I kept hearing was – What’s in your heart? All the best intentions, programs and agenda’s will fall to the wayside, if our hearts are not in the right place.

This message is a message that we hear over and over, the simplicity of it is amazing. Yet … for whatever reason, we don’t get it.

Jesus gives us two commandments, Love God with all your heart and soul and love others as yourself. It doesn’t mean we throw away the other commandments, it simply means if we do these two, the others will fall into place.

We are not going to kill someone if we love them. We are not going to steal something from someone if we love them. You get the picture.

LOVE is the answer. Didn’t the Beatles write a song about that?

But if we are to love God and each other, we can’t be going around hurting each other. If we say we love Jesus, we need to do what He asks of us.

It’s pretty simple … isn’t it?

Father, thank you for loving me first. Teach me how to love others as you love them.
